| There was nothing I wanted to see more in Washington DC than the Washington Monument. I talked and talked and talked about it for days. |

| There was some discussion around the reason for the change in color of the limestone. We settled on the fact that the builders had to use a different quarry to get their limestone when the civil war broke out. |

| There's a great view from here. We could see all the way to the Lincoln Memorial - B's favorite! |

| It felt pretty cool to touch too. We didn't get there in time to buy tickets and I was pretty bummed, but there was so much more to see that I quickly got over my disappointment. |

| We were on the other side to make sure we could in fact see it's reflection all the way across the water from the Lincoln Memorial. Check! |
