A White (House) Christmas

Okay so this year Mom decided we'd head out East right after Christmas to finally visit our friends in Virginia and to tour DC.  I didn't know about leaving all of our new toys the very day after we opened them, but seeing Tania and Derek was a MUCH better present anyway.

We decided to tour the nation's capital the day after we arrived. Here we are at the Smithsonian castle.

They had this really cool thingy that took our picture.

Okay we had to try a few different times.

then it slowly, slowly recreated the image

with a lot of different images from the museum!

Here's the finished product.

We are big fans of this Smithson guy because of the whole "Night at the Museum" franchise. I was a little blown away by the fact that he was just in there.

and B was pretty sure this was his actual head. We just let that one ride...

There it is from the outside.

Mom liked the Hope Diamond, but she said not as much as the two little plastic rings we gave her.

There were a lot of cool things, but the museum was SO crowded that it was tough to enjoy them all. I did manage to muscle my way up to this elephant leg bone.

The highlight for us was the giant creepy crawlers.

Hey Dad!  This one's MUCH bigger than the ones in our basement that you hate.

We found Rexi.

And the bad dinosaur from the movie too.

and here's the whole reason we came.  Dum Dum!!
