Vandyville Spooks

As you know, we have quite the posse here in Vandyville.  This year, we took the neighborhood by storm!

Here's the gang:  Bryce the Bat, Alyssa the Peacock, Sydney the gorgeous (and good) witch, KK the creepy scream skeleton (with blood dripping down her mask!), Cole "night spiderman" who gives presents and has a cape, and Parker "War Machine.  We were a FORCE this year!

Oh and our shining star Sammy!  He loves getting dressed up too!

Bryce was really excited to Trick or Treat for the first time this year.

Some houses gave out candy AND treats.  We sure are a well loved crew.
Thanks neighbors!  Happy Halloween!

Bootiful Boys

Things have been getting slightly weird around here lately.  My big brother has "brave powers" so he LOVES all things spooky, but I've not been so sure...  Today, I woke up to a whole bag full of spooky "treats."

Of course, my big bro was wired from minute one today.

He tried to tell me what to expect, but seriously... costumes and candy and treats just because?  No way..

Okay, the costume part proved to be true.  Mom wrestled me into my bat costume about 30 seconds after my morning nap.  Goodness gracious!

I might have been a little more co-operative if I'd understood her when she explained that we were going to hang out at pre-school!

What a blast!  I didn't get to stay long, but I definitely got into the maximum amount of trouble while I was there.

There really was no stopping me.  The kids all loved me and the Moms and Dads let me get away with murder too.

I kinda like pre-school.  Too bad Mom says babies are NOT allowed.  I can't wait to be big enough to go to Mrs. Stricker's class all the time like Cole.

Brutha's Baby Wash

We're all about supporting small business owners here in Vandyville.  Check out the cool new business venture I recently frequented. It's called Brutha's Baby Wash and it's run by our favorite young entrepeneur - Cole!

At first, I thought the service was great.  They were definitely friendly.

And... they seemed to be committed to doing a quality job as well.

I started to get a little nervous when the owner seemed to be taking a little TOO much pleasure in his work...

He did his best to reassure me, but still... there was a sinister tone to his laugh.

He signed me up for the supreme soak cycle!

I've never heard of anyone needing to be doused 14 times, but he assured me he was a qualified expert in dirty boys so I let him do his thing.

He must've spent 20 minutes spiking and smoothing and then dousing my hair.  I still have my doubts about his process, but he says it's the best in town.

When we moved on to the power rinse, I had no choice but to threaten to call the Better Business Bureau on him.

A guy can only get so clean, right?
I'm all for the little man, but next time I think I'll take my business back to Mom's.  I know it's big business, but there's a reason babies the world over go there.
Sorry Cole!  Best of luck in your next venture.  I'm out!

Signs of the Season

If you live anywhere near Vandyville, you must have noticed the change in the seasons.  It's getting cooler and much more colorful outside.  Today, we spent the afternoon on a hike with our good friends.

Wyatt and I took it upon ourselves to find and throw every walnut husk in the forest into the river.

B was happy to just enjoy the scenery.

We were really busy.  There are a LOT of green balls in the forest!

B had more fun throwing the wood chips on the playground.

Speaking of getting cooler, this kid definitely is!

Old Man Vandygriff has been hard at work getting his pristine yard ready for the winter.

This year, I made $5 helping him rake.  Thanks for the Cole sized rake Didi and Baba!

We Vandygriff men take pride in a good pile of leaves.
Happy Fall!

10 Months

Well I've officially been here in the world for 10 whole months.
I've sure been busy!  I've been taking steps for about 3 weeks now.  My record is 7.
I'm babbling up a storm.  I can say "Dada and Hi" but I don't really know what they mean.
I DO know how to talk to the kitties though.  I meow at them whenever they come around.
Mom is a little jealous that I'm more excited about communicating with Boots and Bella than with her, but I can already tell it's going to be tough to get a word in edgewise with her so I figure I'll go for an easy win early on in the game.
Lots of things HAVE changed for me.  My allergies are less and less bothersome all the time.  I'm eating most foods with no problem and having only small reactions to a few.  I LOVE dairy and meat.  Really, I'll eat anything happily.
My favorite thing these days is other kids.  I love being around big kids and can't wait to go to school with Cole.  I love going to pick him up and drop him off more than anything.  Okay, so I do love being the only kid home with Mom and Dad too ;)  My favorite toy is still my empty travel sized bottle of baby shampoo.  I like the computer mouse and Cole's singing donkey a lot too though.
Vital signs are coming soon.  Mom tells me I have to go in for one more flu shot next week so I'm sure she'll sneak me on the scale when the nurse isn't looking.  Stay tuned!

Big Steps for a Big Boy

Look what I've been working on for the past three weeks!  Up until last night, I was only taking 2-3 steps here and there, but then Sydney and KK came over and I stepped my game up BIG time. I was a walking fool!  Mom didn't get it on tape last night, but here I am going strong this morning.  I'm officially a WALKER!

Angels

Some sounds are so nice, Mom thinks they must be what heaven sounds like.
Thanks Boots for allowing us to enjoy this awesome sound!

The Big Oh Five!

Sunday was a very important day for me as a Best Bud... It was Vann's Birthday!

I planned an awesome night of partying with older women, games, prizes and tons of fun.
Of course, we brought B along!  He's part of the gang!

We were the talk of the Fall Festival at KK's school this year.
Everybody thought we were the  cutest, happiest best buds they'd ever seen.

Okay, B got his fair share of praise as well.  He had a blast hanging out with us cool kids.

We played every game there was to play.

We were inseperable.

In case you doubted me...  Check out these older women we hung out with ALL night!

Of course we got our faces painted.

Vann was Lightning Boy and I was Human Torch.
How odd that they didn't have stencils for those...

We hung out with my buds the firemen and scored hats.

I showed Vann the Spidey Training School I go to all the time.  He was a natural.

And.. the highlight of the night!  Despite Mom's wishes to the contrary, we BOTH won fish!
What parent doesn't want their kid to come home from a sleepover with a new pet?!
Here are "Bats" and "Batty."  The names are a testament to our great friendship as we both
wanted to name our fish Batty, but of course we couldn't have TWO fish with the same name
so we worked out a compromise, which is what best buds do.

Then it was time for fun at MY house.  We were pretty beat, but never to beat for a good bed bouncing.

Oh yeah, we have the same pjs!

This is what we'd look like if we were skeleton ghosts.

Yes, the little man hung around for the afterparty too!

We didn't exclude him even once.

Happy Birthday Vann!
I can't wait to have you over again.
