Weekend Update

Mom kept us at the soccer fields ALL day Saturday once again.  I was a great sport on Saturday, but come Sunday it was payback time...  I was super cranky and would not be put down.  Attached to Mom doesn't mean I don't help out though!  Here I am helping empty the dishwasher.

Perfect mounting height!

Hey Ma!  We're running low on Jet Dry.

Lookout Mom.  Cranky Baby on the LOOSE!

Blue Angels

Another frantic Saturday morning for we Vandy boys.  Mom was flying around the house packing this and that and as soon as B woke up, we were off to the soccer fields.  This week we were only 4 minutes late for team pictures.  Even so, I had to wait patiently for my moment in the spotlight.

Some of us are better at waiting patiently than others.

B was on the MOVE.  He had all the Blue Angel Moms and Dads on their toes walking him around and holding him.  It takes a village to get us through a soccer morning without Dad!

My official pose.  Look out Beckham!

Um... B's official pose.  He is our team mascot - the bull-baby!

Mom thought the team picture was great fun.  It reminded her of that hilarious day each May when Dad has to round up Boots and Bella up for their annual trip to the vet.  Ha!

One of us had to have a few more reminders than the others.

I'm not saying who.

We finally got a good shot...

Then Gracie showed up!

Right here pretty girl!

Back to posing...  Mom says a lot of Thank You's to these two coaches who seem to have an endless supply of patience.

Then it was game time!  We weren't sure if we were playing soccer or football this week.  We all fell every chance we got and whenever one of us went down, the rest of us ran over to DOG PILE!  It was SO much more fun than a regular game.

And... I SCORED!  Okay, so it was on a break when nobody else was on the field... Who Cares?!  I dedicated my goal to Grandma because she called to wish me luck and ask me to score so how could I disappoint?!

GO BLUE ANGELS!

Conversations With Cole

Mom:  (walks into living room to find Cole painting with no pants or undies on)  Cole!  What are you doing?
Cole:  I'm making a rocket Mom.
Mom:  Honey, what happened to your pants?!
Cole:  They were making me hot so I had to take them off.
Mom:  Where are they? Did they get dirty? Did you go potty?
Cole:  (begins to show signs of annoyance at the endless string of painfully obvious questions) ah, I went potty but they are not dirty.  They're in your bed.
Mom:  But honey, WHERE are your underwear?
Cole:  (clearly annoyed at this point) They're in my pants Mom.  (tries to change the subject to a less annoying line of interrogation)  Look, it's a rocket!
Mom:  Cole honey, why did you take your underwear off?  You need underwear on.
Cole:  But Mom they make me tickle so I can't wear them.  I just can't wear underwear, but Ghosty took his underwear off too.
Mom:  Oh Cole.  What am I going to do with you?
Cole:  Mom!  I MADE YOU A ROCKET!

Nine Months

I've almost been "out" as long as I was in!  That's right, I'm Nine Months old already.
I'm a pretty big deal.  Most days it takes at least two grown ups to keep up with me.  I eat more than my big brother, although that's not hard to do and I sleep almost as much as my kitties (okay it's not humanly possible to sleep as much as they do).  Even though I've been detached from Mom for quite some time, I still like to be as near her as I can be while I am awake.  What can I say?  I'm a Mama's boy!  I love my Dad too though and have been saying "Da da" with purpose lately.  Of course, the one who makes me smile the most is my best friend Cole.  He is always picking me up and putting me in hilarious places.  He loves to cuddle me too.  Sometimes I think he likes me TOO much :)
My favorite toy is now an empty travel shampoo bottle.  I also love big brother's Apple Computer and Boots.
My favorite song has not changed.  My favorite food is cheese.  I love meat too though.
I'm almost as wide as my big brother.  We're built pretty differently.  As you can see, it's not hard to tell that we're brothers :)  I'm hoping to beat him to the walking milestone.  I'm standing solo for a few seconds here and there so hopefully I'll be walking within the coming weeks.

Conversations With Cole

"Dear God, thank you for Mommy and Daddy and Bryce and our house and my toys and ghosty and the sun and school and my friends. You know us, you love us and you have good bones. Amen"

Sorry Grandma!

Well Grandma, I think it's pretty obvious what happened at our house last night.
Mom and Dad cut my hair!  Dad was tired of it looking so "scruffy" and Mom got tired of scrubbing my breakfast, lunch and dinner out of it every night.
As a peace offering, Dad put me in this shirt.  Hope it makes you smile :)  Also, it should be noted that Cole REALLY wanted his hair cut when he saw that Dad and I had ours buzzed off, but Mom said at least ONE of her boys needed to have some hair.  Hopefully we'll all have more for you when we see you again.
We Love You Grandma!

Comedy Show

Just when I think I have my big brother figured out, he amazes me with another talent.  Today, he and his buddies put on a comedy show for all their parents and siblings.  Some people called it "soccer," but I know comedy when I see it.  The highlight of the show was when Cole hiked his shorts up and ran around the field showing everyone his Wolverine underwear in the second half.  Classic!
To the untrained eye, it may appear as if my big brother is not quite sure what's going on in this video, which is totally bootlegged so don't tell the FBI.  He may even appear to be a little intimidated by the two superstars on his team who scored pretty much everytime they touched the ball, but  I know the truth.. he's mortified because Mom would NOT stop cheering!
We stuck around afterwards to watch Sydney's game and that was enough soccer for me.  I was BEAT.
Thanks for the great entertainment everyone!  I can't wait to see what happens next week.

It's Good to Be a Vandy!

Sunday was an important day for our country and for our family.  We all remembered the events of 9/11 - even those of us who weren't born yet.  What better way to commemorate the strength of our nation  than to gather with family?  We were so happy to spend time with Papa, Nana and the rest of our Vandy crew at the annual reunion!

Of course, B and Shayla were inseperable!  We adore our newest cousins and I think they may feel the same way about us.  Could two boys be any luckier?!

Mom thinks this picture is fantastic.

It was Bryce's first reunion.  He was absolutely smothered with snuggles and smooches.  Here he is charming Aunt Patty and Uncle Earl.

Smitten!

And, the Fantastic Four.  Shayla and Sue played all afternoon with us.

Shayla took B on everything!  What a lucky little man.

Like me, he loves the sand.  Unlike me, he likes to eat it!  What's that all about?!

When you are as hyperactive as the four of us, it's hard for the Momparazzi to get a decent shot.  Here we are going for a Sunday drive with Sue's foot in the windshield.

My awesome cousin forgave me for beating her up on Saturday.  We're best friends once again.

Of course, we got plenty of snuggles and tackles in with our fabulous Godparents too!
It sure is great to be a Vandy and have such a wonderful family.
See you all again next year!

Godparents!

We got a special treat on Sunday.  Uncle Rick and Aunty Marianne stopped in!  Cole had big plans to scare Uncle Rick and even spun a web for him to get trapped in when he walked in the front door.  Ha!

I took a much more direct approach and just drooled all over him.

Cole got to go in Uncle Rick's Jeep!  They sure do know how to spoil a kid.

TJ was a huge hit in her new "doggles"

I was a little sad when Cole told us he was going to live at the Carl residence.  Fortunately, Uncle Rick says "No Live Ins!  Only Visitors!"  Whew.  That was a close one.
Thanks for an awesome morning Uncle Rick and Aunty Marianne.  We love you!

To Grandmother's House We Go!

We were pretty tired after our day at the Children's Museum, so Mom decided to toss us in the car and head up to Grandmas!  We had a really great day with them on Saturday.  Bryce and Bugga had a lot of hugs and chats.  Bryce showed off his walking skills too.

Grandma took me to the park.  We both liked this big swing.

B loves our Ota.

I do too!

How could we not?!

We made sure to leave our mark on every nook and cranny at Grandma's house.  Here's B giving her a little something to remember us by on her glass window.

B's walking skills.

That kid was all smiles all weekend.  Here he is showing off his TWO teeth.
Thanks for a nice visit Bugga and Grandma!

Explorers

Dad had a great idea for a family day on Friday.  So, we packed everyone up and went downtown to the Children's Museum.  Guess who was waiting for us when we got in?!  Bumblebee!!  He told us to get a membership so of course, we did.  I'm excited to go all winter long.

It was my first time there so Cole did an excellent job showing me the ropes.

Cole did a little scuba diving.  What a great looking 'splorer!

We both enjoyed the trains

Seriously... do I have the best big brother or what?!

I don't know what kind of church this is, but that pastor seems a little nutty!

Cole wanted corn rows, but Mom says school pictures are next week so just a little off the top this time please Henry.

I was all over the place in the kidscape area.

It's easy to be brave when you have a big strong guy looking out for you.

Cole even took me for a ride!

All Aboard the Vandy Express!

We were inseperable all day.  What an awesome family day.  Thanks Dad for the great idea!
