Miss Mary took us over to do prairie chores. Aiden wasn't all that excited about having to smash corn to make corn bread. |
Really dude? Really?? |
I gave it the ol' college try. |
We liked carrying the yoke and water buckets MUCH better because we could swing them around and try to make them hit people! |
I think I would've made a good prairie worker! |
Coley tried too. Somehow I think he would've been the prairie guy who invented irrigation so he didn't have to work at hauling heavy buckets. |
This was by FAR the best chore. We got big sharp thingys and were told to make holes! |
We LOVED it! We had no idea what the holes were for, but we didn't care one bit. |
Last stop was fence building. We each got a piece of wood. |
We laid them down in a very special pattern as instructed by forewoman Mary. |
No problem! |
Aaaaand that does it! |
Miss Mary was very proud of us. Coley wanted to stay and ask all kinds of history questions, but we wanted to move along! There had to be more to prairie life than chores! |
