After the wedding, we joined a caravan headed off into the woods. In America, we have "Uncle Tom's Cabin." In Canada, there's "Uncle Phil's Cabin!" |
We were literally off the grid! |
But Wow! What a cabin! We were quite impressed! |
Here's the upstairs. They sure do love to read. This cabin has electricity and water and heat too. A huge upgrade for our bushman uncle. |
and they have beans drying on the ceiling for added ambiance or a late night snack. |
There was plenty of room for everyone who stayed. Here's where the Vandy's camped out. |
There was something neat to see around every corner. |
Uncle Phil's Tobacco crop hung in the basement. |
No risk of vampires! |
The best part about being at Uncle Phil's (besides the fantastic company) was the food. Everything was made from their garden. Here's the carrot wedding cake. |
And this lady... She quickly became B's best friend. She didn't speak much English, but she had the BEST smile and energy. B loved her so much! |
He taught her Blue's Clue's songs and she didn't mind doing them over and over and over and over and over again with him. |
Then he demanded to go to bed so Aunty Charlotte snuggled up with a story for him. Thanks so much for bringing these amazing new people into our lives Uncle Phil! |
