The Great Canadian Adventure - The Life of a Bushman

When we awoke in the morning there were tents in the yard.

More vehicles too.

Another fact about Canadians that I learned is they sure do smoke a lot! The porch was always busy.

After breakfast (straight from Aunty Charlotte's garden), Uncle Phil and Aunty Charlotte took us out to see the property. We fell in love with the bunnies.

We got to go in and feed them and pet them. Funny thing..  Aunty Charlotte said their names were "breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner?!"  Who names their cute little pets after meals??

Uncle Phil said something about waiting to do something with them until after we left for something..

Then B watched in SHOCK as he pulled a carrot out of the ground and ate it! Mom won't let us eat anything that falls on the floor but she didn't say a thing about him eating something that was IN THE DIRT! B had to try it.

Mom did insist on us rinsing our carrots off in the rain barrel.

They were awesome!

B ate so many he decided he had turned into a bunny and hopped all around.

Our big buddy Bernard (who B called "Nard" and Mom called "Nard Dog") was happy to just munch on the grass.

Uncle Phil let us feed some carrots to the bunnies. Crazy thing about Canadian bunnies is that they like the GREEN part of carrots better than the orange!
As the morning wore on, more and more colorful people showed up. They were all SO very nice and so happy!

Kids in Uncle Phil's world have the LIFE! We got to run around in the woods, hunt chipmunks, get    D I R T Y, play with animals, climb, run, roll and explore as much as we wanted!

Soon a table started to take form. We were a little upset about this as we had been using the hay bales as wrestling props.

No matter! There were plenty of other things to climb.
This couple was very special. They own a tree farm where Uncle Phil and Aunt Charlotte had their first date.

And how's this for a wedding gift?! Mom said she did not have this item on her registry :)

The happy couple.

And some wild and happy kids.

Aunt Charlotte has an amazing family. They were all so very kind to us. Her sister was always so happy! You can sure tell they love Aunty Charlotte a lot.

Pretty hair for the bride.

This was another favorite couple. Bryan and Anna slept outside in a tent while we bundled up in fleece pjs and layers and layers of blankets inside. They were so nice! Here they are drawing a full page of goodness in the guest book.
Everyone brought food and gifts and things to share. What an amazing community!

Yes Mom, we know you were there too!

How can you not be happy when you are around these two?

Uncle Phil hit the jackpot.

Enough of the mushy stuff guys!

Yet another fun fact I learned about Canadians is that they LOVE Celine Dion. When the DJ put Celine on, everyone started singing at the top of their lungs and Hind did a dance!

A short break from prowling the woods hunting chipmunks to have a bite to eat.

Merlin has already caught, cooked and eaten two chipmunks. A lady brought him two more and he has plans to eat those too! We were blown away. Kids around us do not do that!

Our new friend Cec wrote the funniest map for us, then disappeared for awhile. He came back with the world's most beautiful horses and a wagon for the kids to ride in.

That's Zeke on the left and Belle on the right.

More colorful characters.

Mom liked this guy's hat and beard.

We had a blast on the hayride! We had a blast all day. What an awesome community of happy and interesting people Uncle Phil and Charlotte are a part of. Mom says when we're older, we can go and stay for a bit longer with them! Woo Hoo!!
