Camping Done Right

Okay everyone knows that camping is pretty cool, but we didn't want just "pretty cool."  We wanted an EPIC weekend at camp, so....  we brought all of the coolest people we know!

Mom rushed home from Chicago Friday night to pack us up, then at the crack of dawn on Saturday, we picked up Jackson and his Mom and drove down to camp.  Seth and his Dad came, and Elijah and his Mom too!

We got to sing one of our family's favorite songs :)

Pastor came too!  This is probably the last year we'll let the parents hang out with us at camp so they ALL came.

Of course my best buddy Levi was there.

We didn't even know it, but Catherine was signed up for the same weekend.  What a bonus!

Yup, that's Jeremiah and his dad.  He brought his cool cousin too.

We pretty much dominated every activity, but we REALLY owned the tetherball court.

You can see that we take our tetherballing very seriously.  Our best play is to all crowd together and just whip the ball as hard as we can until it hits one of us in the face.  Awesome!

Go Team Zion!

We got to go creek stomping.  We found lots of stinky mud and clay and bugs and greatness!

We had not only the coolest kids, but also the cutest Moms!  Can you believe they all went down the waterslide with us?  We made a giant train and broke all the rules.  So cool!

Our counselors were fantastic as usual.  This guy made funny voices!

Another great creek discovery by Catherine's Mom.  This perfect little heart shaped leaf.

We preferred the clay :)  Oh, you may think Catherine felt left out being the only girl.  Ha!  She is as much a part of this gang as any stinky boy!

It's never dull when you come with an entourage

Archery was Levi's favorite thing.  Of course, mine too.

Here's the whole group waiting to ride horses!

Everyone except me went on the zipline.  Elijah took one for the team and went with Mom.  I was not interested in it after trying it out last year.  Maybe I'll do it again next year.

The Andersons were game!

As were the Werners!

We finished the day with a giant bonfire.  More songs, lots of marshmallows and a chance to use our lanterns!  Levi went with the head mounted light.

Elijah's Mom makes a mean marshmallow

We had a great time finding the perfect sticks.

Perfection!

Evidence that Mom was there :)

After canoeing, we went straight back to Archery on Sunday morning.

Even the Moms took a few shots.  My Mom almost took an arrow in the butt courtesy of Elijah.   Oops!

We may or may not have gotten a little more wet than our Moms wanted when we were attacked by pirates in the canoe and then went up to our waists to wash our feet.  Oops!  Sorry ma!  What a great time we had at camp.  We can't wait to go without our parents next summer!
