I got to go to my first parade on Saturday! It was in celebration of Patriot Day, which is pretty important. My school had a float so Mom and I went to cheer everyone on.
As predicted, I was not a big fan of sitting around waiting for the action to start. Luckily, my good pal Wolverine came along. I passed the time by sticking him in the puddle. I also found some of my friends from school to play with.
Then... the most embarassing event. The minute the parade started, Mom started crying! She couldn't pull herself together the entire time. What a sap!! Thankfully, my friend Jacob was there. I pretended not to know her and just focused on getting candy with him.
Here's my dash into the street pose.
That's Jacob in the bottom corner. He was all about the blue suckers. I went crazy for the tootsie rolls. We even got stuffed animals!
And.... the highlight of the parade - The Zion Lutheran School float! Pastor came by and gave me a high five and some of the big kids on the float yelled out to me. I thought it was pretty cool. Mom says maybe next year, I'll be old enough to sit still and wave to people on the float. We'll see about that.
