Princess B

It's been 5 days now and Princess B is coming right along! These two love to cuddle.
Surprise # 7 from the dumb people who sold her to us is that she is currently in HEAT! We are learning that this is a very bad time when girl dogs have to wear diapers and they bleed! YUCK!

Row Row continues to be oh so patient. This is a good shot of his late summer shed. He's got an upside down state of texas just hanging out on his back!

This little one is just like me. She's in constant conflict with her intense desire to cuddle and her extreme inability to control her wiggles!

If you like cuddling with a squirmy, hairy slobbery tongue, than do we have the pet for you!

Mom thought nothing could be harder than taking a picture of a little boy.

HA HA HA!  Add in Miss Bristol, Ma!

There is no stopping this tongue!
We hope someday that she gets enough love to fill her tank so she's not so desperate for affection all the time!

Family Reunion

In a move that can only be described as temporary insanity, Mom and Dad decided to take all of us and both dogs up 3 hrs. to the Family Reunion today! There were 78 people and 2 canines there.

Mom made us wait until juuuuust before the big photo shoot to put our baby blue shirts on.

No deal Mom. We still went in dirty!

The pups were a BIG hit with the kiddos. Bristol was a little overwhelmed with grown ups, but she was more than happy to snuggle with all the kiddos. Of course, our big boy was rowdy, but oh so patient whenever a little one came around.

and they're getting along soooo well!
We Vandys are all so different, but we do all seem to get along very well.

Thanks Grandma for taking some good pictures of our family of 6!?

and thanks Bristol and Row Row for making us proud with your good behavior today.

Another Vandy Genius

This came home today. Looks like we have another mental giant in the house! B heard "transportation" in the story and just went ahead and added it to his worksheet on his own!

Awkward Adjustments

Part of her new life here in Vandyville is our little furry sister's new name "Bristol." We are all adjusting to her presence.
As expected, Rowan has been the ultimate gentleman. He is patient and kind and totally willing to share.

Mom is adjusting to all of the extra work it's going to take to get this little girl healthy and strong. She got all of her shots and some bloodwork at the vet this morning. They dug all of this crap out of just one ear! Mom has also given her the world's most thorough flea bath, followed by a full quarantine and a household exorcism for any potential fleas who may have jumped ship during the 45 seconds she spent inside!

Rowan is adjusting to sharing and is patiently waiting for her to play.

She has no idea about toys. Or treats. Or stairs. She thinks grass is AMAZING. Coley is working on showing her that her most important job is just to be silly!

For now, she's glued to Mom's side. She just wants to be around people and love.

They won't even make her sleep in her crate. Nolan and I don't mind using it though!

Chasing Dreams

More dream were pursued this week! Today Mom and Dad took a day off to go south and look at 50 acres and a cabin. Dad was quite impressed with the driveway.

Yes. It DOES go through a creek.

He was absolutely a fan of the deterrent to any and all visitors.

But seriously, big guy...  You do know that MOM will need to drive on this too, right?

Another dream that was pursued and realized today was Mom's dream of having a Rhodesian Ridgeback! She found this little princess online at a K9 Training Academy. Mom was more than happy to pay a lot of $$ for a fully trained little girl like this!

Sadly, when they arrived, they found ~15 dogs chained up in the dirt. "Rogue" was absolutely covered in flea poop and fleas. She has scars on her neck from being chained up, hasn't had her shots in 1.5 years and is not at all trained. Of course, Mom couldn't leave her with those people. They scooped her right up and called to report them.
Happy First Day of a Better Life little girl!

Big Plans

If you know B, you know he has his heart set on being a farmer. This is not a new development. New however, is his plan to build his homestead in the empty lot next to Vandyville. Mom couldn't be happier! I decided to help him map out his empire today. It's looking pretty good little bro!

Eclipse Mania

Eclipse Mania has hit New Pal! The entire school got "Moon Pies." Bryce and I got Gluten Free, homemade Moon pies, which were pretty much diabetes in a ziploc. Two chocolate chip cookies with marshmallow creme in the middle dipped in both white and milk chocolate. Yikes!
Mom was stuck at home watching the eclipse with the big guy. He wasn't at all impressed. Even though the internet had all kinds of warnings about pets needing to be indoors so they didn't stare at the sun, Mom had faith that he would be smart enough to resist eclipse fever.

Unlike that one kid in the black t-shirt at school. Who says humans are smarter than animals?!

Our Moms convinced us that any 1 second spent outside without our glasses would result in our permanent blinding. We didn't mess around.

Seriously Mom....  What's with the weird glasses?

This is what the sky looked like without them.

but THIS is what it looked like with! What a cool experience.
Catch you again in April of 2024 Sun and Moon!

Wild Animals

If you live on S. Parkview Drive, you pretty much have to love critters. The Silers always have a house full of turtles and dogs and rodents and now they have 2 Geckos! Their names are Echo and Repeat and we love them!
Yesterday, Mr. Siler came over and asked for our services. He had a giant frog in his pool!
No worries! B reached right on in there and pulled the big guy out.

But no matter who comes and goes, our favorite wild animal around here is always this guy.
We love animals! Especially our Row Row!
