The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It's beginning to look a lot like our favorite time of the year. We worked really hard on the decorations all weekend.

We Are So Very Thankful

After dropping Rowan off at his doggie hotel, we were off to Grandmas! We came a night early so we could get some time in with them before...

The mayhem of family!!  Here we are at the kid's table with poor Shayla and Sue who are stuck with us.

As you can see, we are not the most dignified dinner guests. After Daddy finished his "to do" list around the house and Mom helped clean up after dinner, we were off to Papa and Nana's.

Two generations of Vandy men. Mom loves it when they're all together. Hey!  Put your phones down!

Nana helped B entertain Bobey. He was pretty tired when we left the next morning!

I always have a lot to talk to my Papa about.

Almost got three generations of Vandy handsomeness in this one.

Bobey was much easier to rough house with than Rowan!

It was time for Rowan's first weekend away from home since he joined our family. We were all a little sad to have to put him in a kennel.

We're kind of attached to this crazy boy and were worried he'd be lonely and scared without us. Thankfully, we found room at the kennel where Sammie goes and he was able to run and play with his best bud a lot when he was there.

Favorite Veterans

It's Veteran's Day and as if serving our country in a horrible war wasn't enough, Papa drove all the way down to go to Coley's school program today.

He made sure to spend time with me first though. I have been working hard on my letters and was really proud to show him that I can do them all.

Tonight's the big night! Time to put our 6 weeks of wrestling practice to the test. We decided to get warmed up for our matches at home.

Oh..  I guess it's NOT WWF.

Rowan was definitely not happy about us beating each other up but he didn't know which one of us to bark at to make us stop so he gave up and went to sit on Mom's feet.

We were ready to rumble!

It was no small feat getting everyone organized for a group picture. Oh and yes, there are girls in wrestling too!

Dylan and I tried to look tough.

I am the youngest, but not the smallest. It's not the size of the dog anyway and I have more than enough fight in me!

Zeke was there too!

Finally, it was time to roll.

My opponent wasn't a pushover, but as soon as I realized I was just supposed to put him on the mat, he had no shot.

I pinned him over and over until the match was done.

and I won!

Coley was up a little later. He has a different approach than my "beat em with brute" style.

Coley paid attention and got all the moves down during practice while I was running around like a maniac.

His opponent was bigger, but alas... not even close to a good match for Coley.

He pinned him, watched for the points, let him up, pinned him again, over and over and over.

After a while he was just toying with the poor kid.

"I think I'll just rest here a bit"

I think he was actually getting a little bored!

He finished the match 18 - 2 with a massive win for team blue.

We were inspired by the gorgeous ladies in our corner! Thanks in part to the Vandy duo, the blue team won the night.

Who's next??

Serious Business

It's that time of year again. B has been working very hard on songs for his Fall Program.

He took it very seriously.

No smiles, no goofing around.

And unlike most of the kids, he nailed every last move.

It took a lot of focus.

But he stayed on point the whole time. We were very proud.

There was plenty of time to goof off afterwards. Surprisingly, B and Aiden were positioned on exact opposite ends of the bleachers. I wonder why?

All Clear!

We got GREAT news from Dr. Gupta today. B's latest tests all came back clear. He's healed all the damage caused by celiac disease. Hallelujah!  Thanks for your prayers everyone!
