Gangnam Style!

We've definitely joined the Gangnam style craze!  B especially goes NUTS for this song.  We got to show our moves to our favorite ladies tonight.  Enjoy!

It's always so great to see our best friends!  Thank you for coming over Overtons!

Our Little Republican

From Cole's Kindergarten Teacher:

Hi there!

I just wanted to drop a little note about Cole. He is doing great and excelling in center groups, especially reading CVC words with me. ( ex: like bat, hat, sat, had, mad, bad...) Yesterday, he had me cracking up because we were using three cups that had letters on them to make words. So, by twisting the cups, we made words. We then had to decide if they were real words or nonsense words. He made the word, ROM. I told him that was a nonsense word and he goes, " It is a real word. ROM is short for "Vick Romney." He was so serious about it being like Mitt Romney! I thought that would make you laugh.

Have a great day!

Grandma has Skills

"Mom, are you young or old?"
"What do you think I am, Cole?"
"You're young."
"Thank you buddy!"
"I know you're young because you don't have skills."
"Oh? What kind of skills?!"
"Like... old skills. Like Grandma has skills."

"I Love You Coley"

This morning B reached a monumental milestone with his first "I love you."  It was prompted simply by me waking up and joining him on the couch for a snuggle.  I love you too little buddy!

Yes Sir Sgt. Vandy!

We're home from Grandmas with more than a few extra calories to burn.
Daddy got started working us out right away!

Look at this beefcake!  That doesn't come easy, ladies.

Cole is especially diligent in his workouts.

And one and two and three and four.

BURN it off boys!  We do it our way, Mom hits the treadmill.
Here's to all those drinks and deserts which were SO worth it :)

McCurdy LOVE!

The highlight of today was our quick stop over to see our old friends the McCurdy's.
We were SO happy to see Avery, Lani, Tim and their new little prince - JACK!
Mom and Aunty Lani have been friends for like... ever.

Okay, we were all smitten with this little dude.  Avery makes a gorgeous big sis eh?

B was particularly fond of Jack.

Thanks for the gifts and the visit McCurdys!
Hope to see you again soon!

Week In Review

We have been extra fiesty lately.  Blame it on the holiday excitement!  Mom and Dad hauled out the Christmas Decorations and we have been busy decking halls... okay and maybe each other too.

B's hair has set a new Vandygriff boy record.  What a mess!

I've been slowly turning into a billy goat.  I eat my shirts collars, sleeves and even B's hair!
We all know about Mama Vandy's cooking skills...  Around here we have to eat what we can get!

"What was that?!"  Me:  "Huh?  I'm just sitting here.  What are you talking about?!"

Don't be fooled.  We are still crazy about each other and snuggle just as often as we slug.
Mom came to school for our Thankfulness celebration this week and heard me say aloud that I was thankful most of all for my little brother Bryce.

Sigh.. Even AFTER Dad did something about that wild hair that was feeding me and housing a family of field mice!

We Are Thankful!

Shortly after our Atlanta overnights left, we packed up the truck and headed up to Grandma's house.
We are Thankful for portable DVD players which maintain Mom and Dad's sanity on long road trips which neither of us sleep during.
We are thankful for HUGE meals waiting for us upon our arrival!

We are thankful for Grandma who slaves away making sure everything is just right and everyone has a wonderful time.
She even thought to buy our traditional Christmas books.

We love them!  BONUS:  They have Advent Calendar ornaments :)

We are thankful for all of our Thankgiving traditions, like the annual kitchen trashing event we call cookie baking.
This year, we DEFINATELY ate more than we left behind.

And our annual Bugga snuggle.  That's another great tradition we love.

LEGO creations.  What's a trips to Grandma's without the boys making awesome LEGO things.  This year, Daddy brought a bunch of his old LEGOs home for me!

B had a great time pushing around Bitty Baby.  He is much more partial to her than Normann.
We are thankful that Grandma has kept so many great old toys.

And...  we're thinking of a few more things we're thankful for:
Our new home
Our health
Our friends
The rest of our family
Our kitties
Our amazing country
Our super school
The food in our pantry and the roof over our heads

and our friend Jesus.

THANK YOU!

Freeman Favorites!

Look who stayed in Vandyville last night!
Our first overnight visitors.

Smooches and hugs all around.

We are still nuts about them.  And... we think vice versa.
Happy Trails Uncle Mike and Aunty Kat.
WE LOVE YOU!

Overheard at our house

B:  WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLL!
Mom:  Cole, why is Bryce crying?
Cole:  Well... we were just playing bridge and he said he wanted to be the bridge so I walked on him.

Conversations With Cole

"Dear God,
Thank you for our friends and our family and please help Brycey's hair to grow back."

Kids Against Hunger

Look what we got to help out with at church today!
Mom told us there are hungry kids in Haiti and even here in our own county who only get to eat one meal/day.
We could NOT believe that and wanted to help.

When we arrived, we were the only little ones there.  No matter! We slapped on some hairnets and the organizers found the perfect jobs for us.  We stacked empty boxes, carried bags and colored pictures to send to the children in Haiti.

It was NO joke!  We put a LOT of meals together.

B and I mass produced pictures.  Our friends Levi, Josiah, Lilly and Anna showed up later on.

What a great opportunity to help.  Thanks for finding work for even the smallest of hands "Kids Against Hunger."

More Grandparents in Vandyville!

Grandma Pam and Grandpa Gene stopped by this week!  We are so glad Mom loves Grandma Pam as much as we do because B woke up the next morning, took one look at Mommy and said "Where's Gramma?!"
We sure do miss you and hope you come back soon!

Grandma in a Cupboard

I'm pretty sure I have a one in a million custom home idea.  Here in Vandyville, we are patenting this addition to our kitchen.

We call it Grandma in a Cupboard!
What better way to ensure the meals from your kitchen are juuuust right?!

I think I may have to work out a few kinks....  Like getting Grandma to STAY in our cupboard :)

Love you Grandma!

Grandparents in Vandyville!

Guess who came for a quick visit this week?!
B was so happy to see his buddy Ota.  He was pretty much glued to him.

Ota really loves us.  We love you too Ota!

Bugga and Ota thought our new playroom was pretty sweet.

We showed them all the cool toys

We love Grandparents - especially when they play with us!

Bugga and Grandma bought pizza.

We were so happy to have them here.

Come back very soon!
We love you.

Frank!

As you know, Vandyville has relocated to the country.  Mom and I were outside enjoying the beautiful weather while B was enjoying his cozy bed yesterday when we heard a REALLY loud noise.

It was FRANK!  Straight out of the movie Cars and into the cornfield beside our house.
Mom and I immediately decided we'd be Lightning McQueen and Mater and waited until he got super close.

Then we SPRINTED away from Frank while dodging all the bits and pieces of cornfield he threw all over our backyard.
What an awesome game!
See you next year, Frank.

Get Out and VOTE!

It's Election Day and Uncle Sam wants YOU to get out and VOTE!
That's about as much election coverage as we can stomach around here as our editor is unable to vote and therefore prefers to remain as neutral as possible.
PS.  Based on his reaction to my vote, we're pretty sure B is a democrat.
