BIG Week for a BIG Kid

I got a postcard in the mail from my new teacher this week.
Grandma bought me some new uniforms, I got my school supplies and I thought I was all set to start Kindergarten.
Unfortunately, I had one more stop to make before school... Dr. Kermit's office!
I had to get 2 shots :( I cried a teeny tiny bit before the shots because I was pretty nervous, but then I didn't cry at all (or even flinch) when I got the shots.  Mom was really proud.  I had to also sit through a 30 minute ear flush and I got a little impatient towards the end, but I was an all star patient none-theless.  Good Thing too, because B had to go the next day and he was not such an all star :)  I tried to give him brave powers, but he mostly just wanted to scream at everyone and hit people.  Ah B... I still love you kid.

Big Brother, Big Job

Here in Vandyville, we take Big Brothering very seriously.  When I need tips for being patient, sharing and not getting caught for taking out my frustrations, I turn to a seasoned veteran - My best buddy Boots.

Bella really favors my nutty little brother, but Boots and I are tight.  He sleeps with me, cuddles with me and plays with me.  He gives me plenty of advice too.

Which I use very well.  I'm an incredibly helpful, patient brother who shares my chair, toys, and every meal with B.
He in turn showers me with snotty kisses and hugs and follows me around.

Thanks for showing me the ropes, Boots and thanks for being a great little bro, B.

Party People!

What a fantastic weekend!  After Daddy finished work on Friday, we all piled in the car and drove up to Grandma's house.  She waited up for us and of course, she found the time to read us our favorite bedtime story about King Midas.

We love sleeping over at your house Grandma!

The next morning, my awesome family showed up to celebrate ME!  Mom grabbed me for a quick shot and then I was off to party.

Didi and Baba came.  It was so great to see them!

We think Didi is so funny :)

Baba too.  They sure do love us.

Didi and his boys.  Can you believe he paid Cole a whole dollar to lick a piece of Potato Salad.  Grandparents are AWESOME!  Don't let Mom and Dad tell them not to fall for our tricks though.  Someday maybe they'll have kids and learn, but for now we prefer to keep them in the dark.

Of course Aunty Marianne was there.  She is looking slim and trim and even prettier than usual!  We made sure to get plenty of snuggles in.

And Uncle Scott is usually throwing us around, but B convinced him to cuddle for just a minute.

Oma and Ota are still favorites.  They love us to bits and pieces too!

And can you believe Baba made me a BOMB cake?!  Really!  It had fireworks in it and everything!

It was the bomb!  My whole party was.  my whole family is!
Thanks everybody for loving B and I so much.  We really are the luckiest kids ever.

It Takes A Village

Here in Vandyville, we are smothered both indoors and out by people who love us.
I've grown up with Grandparents next door, big sisters across the street and great buddies across the street the other way.
Of course, we always have an extra celebration which includes those who have been my pseudo family since Day 1.
Gene and Pam and The Overtons came over for cake and presents to help cap off my birthday weekend.

I love them all right back!  What lucky boys we are.

Look how pretty my girls and Julie are!

B wasted no time cuddling up with Gene and Pam.  He knows where he fits best!

Of course, I made sure to get in there and get some really great hugs too.
I am one lucky kid to have so many fantastic people in my life.
Thanks Gene, Pam, Kent, Julie, Sydney and KK for coming to celebrate me!

It's My Party!

The big day arrived!  After much anticipation, my Chuck E Cheese party arrived.  It was blazing hot outside so we quickly stopped off to pick up my cake and went in to get everything ready.  B and I got busy warming up the dance floor.

B politely let other patrons have their moment.

Not me!  It was my big day and I wasn't afraid to snatch and maintain my spot in the limelight.

My little brother is the only Vandy with rythym.  He has great moves!

Slowly but surely, my friends arrived.  I made sure everyone saw my Angry Birds cake.

We immediately TOOK OVER the joint.  We ran around like wild men and played to our heart's content.  It was all the Mommy's and Daddy's could do to get us to sit down for a bite of pizza.

As usual, B found the cutest gal in attendance and attached himself to her.
This little man gets the ladies!

My good buddy Parker came too.  Somehow he found the time to sit and throw down some serious grub.

Then, Chuck E arrived!  We mauled the guy instantly, then chased him around the entire store!
Mom said she is definitely keeping this picture for future teasing.

Some of us got so excited we couldn't STOP hugging!

The only reason Chuck E wasn't trampled was that our host Ralph keyed up the cake!

Those candles were no match for me.

Even buddies who'd just met (Seth and Braylon) because fast friends at my party.
We all had such a fantastic time.

Mom thought this picture was funny.  Braylon is so silly!
Then... the moment we'd all been talking about.  Ralph had to fight everyone off because all 8 of us wanted to go in, but only I got to take a spin in the TICKET BLASTER!

B stayed very close.  He was worried about me and he also kept a close eye on Braylon's super cute little sis Lila.

Back out to the games after cake.  Look how many clowns fit in this car!

One cool thing about all of my friends is that they're all very nice to my BEST friend B.
We all look out for the little guy as he looks up to us :)

Will had no problem stepping out to give B a turn on the roller coaster simulation with Braylon and I.  He took on this giant Jeep instead!

We loved this ride!  We spent the rest of the afternoon in it, then Will came home with us and we partied ALL NIGHT and the whole next morning.  What a great start to my 6th year of life.

Thank you Parker, Alyssa, Gaines, Braylon, Hayden, Will, Seth and your awesome Moms and Dads for coming and helping me celebrate.  I had the BEST party thanks to my awesome friends.

My Best Friend

I'm told it's rare to be born into this world with your best friend waiting for you, but in my case it happened.
I have the kindest, most thoughtful, funniest, smartest and coolest best friend in the whole world and he just so happens to also be my big brother.  He has always been there watching out for me and somehow, I know he always will be.
Happy 5th Birthday to the Best Friend and Coolest Big Brother a guy could ask for.
I love you Cole!

A Boy's Gotta Do What a Boy's Gotta Do

When a little man gets thirsty around here, he has to take matters into his own hands.
Today, I crawled into the big bathtub and turned on the water.  Luckily Mom is better able to discern between hot and cold and she quickly made a minor adjustment for me.

So I drink out of a travel toothbrush case, so what?

You never know what kind of creatures you'll see at the Vandyville watering hole.  This strange striped beast proved friendly and seemed only to wish to satisfy his curiosity.

Thirst quenched!  Next up, making dinner!

Happy 4th!

What a fantastic 4th we had!  We went up to Izzy and Oli's house.
I showed off my new swimming bravery by jumping off the diving board, swimming around with Oli and letting my big beefy Daddy throw me all over the pool.  What an AWESOME time!
After lunch, we even got to have ice cream cake.
Thanks Grandma, Bugga, Aunty Heather, Uncle Gavin, Izzy and Oli for the celebration!

When it comes to candles, I am a pro.
Even my super lungs couldn't defeat Mom's tricky 4th of July sparkler candles.

Of course, my little buddy was there at my side!  He was also glued to Bugga and Grandma's sides.
He isn't a big fan of the pool, but he is a HUGE fan of family so he had a great day.

Little B and Big B. Best buds.

And of course, Aunty Heather won his heart with a big slice of cake and a cuddle.  How lucky are we to have such a great family and live in such a great country?
Happy 4th Everyone!
