Grandparents - Take 2

I'm really liking these "grandparent" people who keep coming around.  Yesterday I met two more - Baba & Didi.  I got to test both of their snuggling skills and they definitely measure up!

Seems like these grandparent people are always armed with presents!

and they all come already madly in love with me!

And...  Cole thinks they're pretty special so they MUST be!

Anyone with cuddling AND play skills this finely tuned belongs on my list of the good things in life.
Nice to meet you Baba & Didi!  Come back soon.

Two Little Vandys

Just a few nice shots to share with you.  Here I am chilling out with Dad today/

My brother at almost the exact same age as I am now.
My brother Cole and I now.  I already look up to him!

And I think he's kinda fond of me too!

A Day in the Life

You may be wondering what life is really like here at my house.  Well, I'm finally here to offer a second opinion!
I can tell you that there is a lot of snuggling.  Cole had that right.  I'm pretty much held for 20 of the 24 hours in any given day.  Not too bad!

I do a lot of thinking about life and what it all means.  I'll let you know what I figure out.

It's a complicated mystery - this thing called life.  I'll have to give it considerable thought.  So far, I've decided it definitely belongs on my list of "good things."  This list also includes snuggles, milk, naps and my family.  It does NOT include diaper or wardrobe changes!

You can see I'm firmly committed.

My big bro seems to be the only source of action around here.  As far as I can tell, Mom's job is to sit and hold & feed me.  Dad then runs around tending to Mom's every need, and keeping tabs on Cole.  He does find time to hang out with me too though!  Thankfully all meals have been catered in by residents of our awesome cul-de-sac.  Otherwise, Mom might have to put me down!!

So... my final report is that yeah, life around here is pretty sweet.

Who Does He Look Like?

All the silly adults always comment on which one of my parents Bryce looks like.  "Oh he looks like Mommy.  Oh, he looks just like Daddy!"  I say they're all crazy!  Bryce looks JUST like me!!

Above is my lighter haired little brother.  This one is me.  NOW tell me
which family member he looks like!

Home at Last - A Family of Four

Even though it was a TON of fun flirting with all the nurses and hanging out with Mom and Bryce in the hospital when we visited, I was excited to go get them and bring them home with Dad this morning.

Bryce was pumped too!  I could tell he could hardly contain his enthusiasm.

Dad is really careful with the little guy.  That's not how he handles big boys like me though!

Here's Bryce all set to go home.

Mom wanted an official "after" shot.

Once we got home, I showed Bryce the ropes.  I gave him the Christmas Gifts I'd gotten for him and demanded that Mom let me hold him asap.  I love this little dude!

He cracks me up.

This is me saying "this is MY baby, mom!"
It's no exaggeration when Mom says I'm the best big brother ever!  So far, I've exceeded all expectations.  How could I not?  Baby Bryce is awesome and we are officially best buds :)

Merry Christmas!

After Baby Brother came around, I was lucky enough to be able to go to Izzy and Oli's house with Grandma and Bugga for Christmas Eve.  Then I brought them back to the hospital to meet my little bro.  Of course, Grandma and Bugga were instantly smitten.  I made sure to tell Grandma that she couldn't take him home though.  He was coming to OUR house.

I told Mom that I was definitely strong enough and ready to hold Bryce.  I really like being his brother.  So great to have you on my team, bro.  Together, we can definitely defeat the bad guy parents!

Just a nice shot of my bro.

I got to spend the night with Grandma and Bugga in the hotel.  Thanks for being there for us, Hanleys!  I had a great time with Grandma in the pool, then we went back to meet up with my family.  Mom was super excited to see me and so was Bryce.

Mom thought Grandma looked really really nice in this green sweater.  Never mind the face.  My Grandma is an angel!  Don't worry Bryce, I'll share her a little bit with ya.

Speaking of angels... My girls came by to meet Bryce too!  They all looked great in their Christmas wear.  I saw Bryce stealing peeks at my KK.  "Hey kid, I'll share some stuff with ya, but NOT my girlfriend!"

You can see why she's all mine...

Sydney and Bryce bonded instantly.  He was in heaven when she held him!  Mom was SO excited because she had visions of babysitters in her head.
Thanks so much for brightening our day, Overtons!

The Vandygriff Men

The Dr. Kit came in handy because...  At about 3am, Mom and Dad woke me up to go to the hospital with them!  Turns out Baby Brother was coming!!  I brought it along and helped check Mom out.  The nurses all thought that was pretty great.  Then, I chilled out with a cute nurse while Mom and Dad went to get Baby Brother.  Afterwards, I hit the hay!  As you can see, those "Dad" beds in the maternity ward are not so comfy.

Oh and of course I brought my pillow pet "Push" too!  I told Mom that "my favorite part was when the girls gave me a pillow pet."  He's a definite hit.

Um... and yeah, it was a long morning.  Baby Brother came at 5:45am and I stayed up the whole time!  I was worried!

Dad was beat too.  What in the world was the Momparazzi doing taking pictures all this time?!

Here's the man of the hour!  He was definitely worth the wait!  Welcome to the world kid.  Don't worry about a thing, I'll show you the ropes!

This guy had a whole pound on me at birth!  Mom was pretty proud to say she brought a 7lb 12oz baby into the world.  He is also a champion eater who lost 10 ounces and gained back 3 before we even left.

Here we are - Mom's hunks :)  The Vandygriff Men!  What a team, eh?
Mom says she's about the luckiest lady she knows.  Who could argue?

Sledding

Thursday night marked our annual Christmas Evening with the girls and their parents.  This year, we went sledding.  I broke out my new Colts tube and Dad and I were wild men on it!

That's us at the bottom of the hill.  I had a BLAST!

It was a lot of work to go up, but so much fun to go down!

The girls had a great time too!  Mom and Julie stayed at the top and chit chatted.  Booooring!
When it was time to leave, they got crazy and went down the hill together!  Mom figured that on the sled was safer than going down on foot.

Afterwards, we went out to eat and then back to my place for gift exchange.  I was really happy to give the girls, Dad and Julie their gifts.

And I got the penguin Pillow Pet I was dying for!  Thanks girls!!  I also got a Dr. Kit which proved to be very handy!

Merry Christmas!

I must've been a really good boy, because Christmas Eve came early to MY house this year.
It probably doesn't hurt that Mom and Dad are nervous about Baby Brother coming and wanted to be sure we had a special night together as a family.  Here we are leaving cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.  I think Boots thought the cookies were for him!

Sure enough, the big man came!  Here I am tearing through my stocking.

And LOOK at all the gifts!  I had so much fun opening mine, and helping Mom and Dad open theirs.  Of course, Boots and Bella enjoyed their traditional Christmas Morning catnip feast.

Then, Dad and I got down to the business of putting together my awesome new train set.  Mom really loved the big drawer that came with it for storage of my umpteen cars, monster trucks and trains.  I loved all the trains and people, and Dad loved the tracks and figuring out just the right configuration.

Gimme Five partner!  Dad and I make a great team!  We spent the rest of the day playing with our new stuff, playing out in the snow and just enjoying our little family, as Mom and Dad say "before the chaos."  What a fantastic early Christmas!
I ended the day with a gift for my old man.  A snuggle in bed and our favorite Christmas movie "A Christmas Story."  We both LOVE to laugh and laugh at the adventures of Ralphie and his crazy family.

Now we can all just relax and wait for the arrival of Baby Brother.  Just a few short days left and we certainly can't wait!
