Invention Camp

It's the week that all local geeks look forward to all year - Invention Camp! We have so much fun taking things apart and building new contraptions and just basically geeking OUT.

Mom brought Bryce and Chloe to the Inventor's showcase where we got to show everyone what we did all week.

Bryce showed a few tricks of his own.

Alex was there too! He came to see Jackson's work.

Gavin and I worked really hard on this hoverboard that only does donuts. It actually works!

Not too bad for two 8 year olds.

We also built solar powered bugs.

'Merica Ninja Warrior

Dad let us stay up to watch American Ninja Warrior on vacation. B decided he is absolutely going to be a contender and began training right away. Look for him on an upcoming season!

Season Champs

Tonight we played Gavin's team to determine the season champ. We didn't really care which one of us won. We just like hanging out and our parents certainly like it best when our teams play each other!

B likes it too because he gets to play with his buddy Addi. This time she brought a cute friend!

I've had a rough season, but stepped it up tonight for two solid hits.

Boom! Mom found a cool high school kid to work with me this summer so stay tuned for better hits in the fall.

Mom was asleep on the job when Gavin stepped up, but he hit well too. We ended up winning the season but will face them again in the playoffs. Good Game Gav!

Wait A Minute... School is OUT

School is out for summer, but Mom isn't letting us slack! We have to do chores and homework EVERY day! Mom actually thought I might have a learning disability and called Dad in a panic because no matter what she did, I simply could not tell her what the words on my flash cards said! That all changed when my Chloe came over. All of a sudden, I knew em all! There was no more tricking Mom after that, but I just couldn't look bad in front of Chloe.

So we work and work and work. Don't we look smarter already??


UPDATE:  I finished the summer with 45 sight words down! Kindergarten, here I come!!

Bros

I get to spend a LOT of time with Gavin this summer. He's here this week every day after Invention Camp. Of course, Mom wanted a nice picture of us. Gavin did try...

Anyway, we do sometimes look nice and are very happy to be able to hang out.

Time to wrap up our vacation, which means we needed to clean up Aunty Marianne's condo! Daddy got to work on the floors while MOm did all the bedding and bathrooms and dishes. We found a mouse sized cockroach in this room and couldn't go to sleep until Mom closed and sealed up the door with a floor mat. They don't make em like that in Indiana!

Once we were all packed up and the place was nice and tidy, we took our leftover bread out for the ducks and gators.

Delicious Carlupa

Night time on vacation is sometimes the best! Mom and Coley bought a fun board game where you get to not only laugh at how dumb others look, you also get to laugh at Daddy's hilarious guesses.

Coley was pretty good at it.

But definitely more hilarious than skilled!



I was actually the all time champ! I couldn't be stumped.

But the highlight of this game was when Daddy got the carrot card. He knew it was a vegetable that we liked to eat and that started with C-A-R. He guessed "Is it a carlupa?" We will never ever let him live that down.

We also played a lot of scrabble until Mom caught Dad using questionable letter combinations which he tried to excuse away by telling Cole they were "bible words." We love it when Dad gets in trouble because he is SO super funny when he tries to wriggle his way out!
