Whoa. Big storm last night! Mom and Dad stuck us in the basement so we totally missed out. |
But we are all hoping for some new windows out of this one! |
Oh and he got his face painted at the awards party today at school. We love our lefty logic man! |
I had the most unique end of year program ever. We had to sing and do some weird old fashioned dances! |
Each 3rd grade class wore a different color shirt. The green class went first with their dance. |
Chloe was in the orange class and we all thought she got ripped off. Her dance was SOOOOO lame! All they did was hold a ribbon and walk in a circle around the May Pole. |
Then... whoa! They turned around and walked in a circle THE OTHER WAY! Super exciting. |
My class was next and I'm not going to lie, my choices were not ideal here. Mom and Dad asked and yeah, I would still rather hold hands and dance with two dudes than a girl. YUCK! |
Jax, Mitchell and I did the Troika as best as three dudes holding hands can be expected to do. |
At least we didn't make total fools of ourselves. |
Finally, we all lined up and did a line dance thing where we swung our partners and do se doh'd. Luckily I was with Aiden and didn't have to touch any girls. Whew! |
Chloe had a blast with her class. One guy was being so crazy his shoe flew off! |
Mom, Dad and Brycey say with Chloe's parents. Chloe's dad was SO funny. He was standing up cheering for her and being hilarious. She didn't mind. Chloe's cool like that. |
One more Do Se Doh shot. |
I don't know how this is a dance, but it was fun! We spun these parachutes around. |
Then got underneath. |
We flipped some beach balls in the air. Chloe's Dad tried to convince B to take the place of one of the balls and it wasn't easy to talk him out of rushing down to do it! |
Lastly, we all lined up and asked our parents to come down and dance with us. B couldn't get down to the floor to dance with Chloe fast enough! I guess one of us doesn't mind girls all that much.... Mom came to dance with me so I made an exception to my "no girls" rule. Thanks for teaching us all of these cool dances Mrs. McDaniel! |
Bet you were wondering what happened to our butterflies. Well, they built cocoons and hung out in there for one week. Mom transferred the cocoons to our butterfly habitat and we waited until they turned black. |
Which happens just before they start to come out! |
We got 9 beautiful butterflies! They stayed in their habitat for a few days avoiding the food we gave them. |
Then Mom and Dad said it was time to let them go. |
One of them made a BIG mess while leaving it's cocoon. This isn't actually butterfly blood though. It's meconium. We had to look it up because we were really worried! |
One by One we got them out of their habitat. |
We spent a few minutes saying goodbye and giving them advice on how to live their lives. |
Then they were off! I chased this first one down. |
Chloe brought a few out too. |
They were pretty happy on our fingers. |
Especially Coley's |
This guy would NOT let go! Like most animals, it was really fond of Coley. Have a great life Butterflies! Thanks for teaching us all about your life cycle. |
Just when Mom thought it was safe to go into "coast" mode, B brought home this final assignment. Of all the animals in all the world to pick from, he chose Flying Fish for his report. Of course... |
Flying Fish are almost as unique as I am so we had to go a little bit out there with our project. |
We made it 3D so we could show the Fishies going in and out of the water! |
I did all of the painting and most of the cutting and glueing. I also did the research (watched an episode of Wild Kratts) and wrote out the facts. They are: 1. They flip their tails 2. They can fly 3. They lay eggs on leaves That's how to finish pre-school with a BANG! |
After Grandparent's Day, I may have gone into a bunny frenzy. I begged and pleaded and cried to Mom and Dad for a bunny and even called Grandma to ask her for one, but nobody thought it was a good idea. I could not be consoled so Dad came up with a compromise. I could build a trap and if I caught a bunny with it, I could keep it. |
So I got my building crew together and we built an awesome trap complete with pictures of both girl and boy bunnies (we were not partial to which type of bunny we attracted. We also made sure to put some tasty bait in there. |
Out to the field for prime placement. |
And here it is! Now we just had to sit back and wait to catch a pet bunny. UPDATE: Stinking bunnies would NOT go in my trap. It's 5/11 and I am still without a furry little pet. We think Rowan may be foiling out attempts. |
Papa and Nana are laid up with health issues this year, so Bugga and Grandma took a turn coming down for Grandparent's Day. The best part was that they slept over! |
A better picture with me almost looking at the camera. |
At school they got to see my artwork. |
One of them won a prize! |
We got to hold bunnies! |
and baby chicks too. |
Bugga and Grandma finished with a visit to the chapel. Thank you so very much for coming down Grandma and Bugga! |
