School Kids

I am dying to go to school like the big kids!  Coley lets me practice with him some mornings.

Look out Zion!  Soon there will be TWO of us!

The Reiman Family Easter

We spent Saturday with our family at Izzy and Oli's house.  Then we crashed another family Easter on Sunday at Jonah's grandparents!  We got another 3 lbs of candy each and had yet another egg hunt!

They may as well be family, these friends of ours.

I was a good sport and helped the younger ones find eggs instead of grabbing them all myself.

Aunty Jo Jo helped B and there's Jonah and his Mommy behind them.

After lunch, the grown-ups made us race all the way to the cornfield and back.  We caught onto their scheme pretty quickly and Jonah and B went and hid.  When Mom asked them what they were doing they yelled "We're NOT RUNNING ANYMORE!"  So, we broke out the four wheelers and went round and round the yard for a while.
Thank you so much for including us wonderful Reiman family!  We sure are lucky to be surrounded by such great friends.

The Reason for the Season

Jonah's Daddy said a really nice prayer today thanking Jesus for all he's done for us and especially for dying on the cross so we could live forever in heaven.  We are among the most loved and fortunate boys alive so we were eager to go and thank God for blessing us so well.  Here we are off to church where we got a big treat - sitting next to our good friends the Edwards family!
CHRIST IS RISEN!  HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Easter Morning

We were up for almost a full hour before B noticed something strange out the back window...  There were eggs EVERYWHERE!

This was our third hunt of the season, so we were at our BEST.

Good thing too.  There were over 100 eggs out there!

One of us got excited and yelled out "I won!" every single time he found an egg.

We filled up two buckets and two baskets.

Vandyville was covered in eggs.

Cole was a great sport and didn't mind using the Elmo bucket at all.  Notice the Archer Football shirt he's sporting?  Our Awesome Uncle Coach Scott gave us shirts for his football team!

When it was time to sort the loot, we were even more surprised to find that every egg had a BAG of candy in it.  We had enough candy to feed a small army.

One of us takes after their mother and wanted eggs and candy where they both belonged.  The other just wanted to have fun and go with the flow!  Go figure.

I Guess We Will Royal

Mom happens to love the new(ish) Lourde song, but wouldn't you know, it's WRONG?!  This season we are all Royal because that's my new team.  I have an awesome coach and a great team.  I got 5 outs and a home run first game.  It's going to be an excellent season!

The Very Best of Friends

As you know, there are two girls who have been a big part of my life for a long long time.  Here's a glimpse back in time to Easter 2009 when Mom had help decorating eggs.  Sydney and KK could ALWAYS be counted on to come over and decorate!

We never miss a holiday with our best friends and this year was no exception.  We did miss KK because she was in Chicago, but Sydney and Julie came by.  I love this girl SO much but I am too cool to say it out loud anymore.

Oh yes, B was there too but he was being...  B.

Of course they brought the BEST Easter treats - fart whistles, joke books, silly glasses and Pez!

Thanks for being our friends for so many years!

My Super Big Brother

Cole's teacher's husband has cancer.  Of course, my big brother is very concerned and prays for him every night.  Here's what his teacher said about him:

Cole is a prayer warrior. There is hardly a day that goes by that Cole doesn't ask about Dan. I told my husband and it brought tears to his eyes.
I will let you know if we need anything. I appreciate knowing there is help if we need it.

Blessings,
Susan

That's my brother!  He has the biggest heart and we are all so lucky to know him.

Eggstravaganza!

Saturday just kept going and going!  At 4 o'clock we got cleaned up and headed to church for an Eggstravaganza!  At Zion, we don't just toss some eggs on the lawn... First, we visited all the baby animals.  Donkeys first.

Then these adorable baby goats.

We asked to take one home but you know Dad would not have it...

We spent quite a bit of time with this big mean ol' turkey.  He was especially mad at B who kept yelling at him.  Thank goodness he was in a cage!

A lot of our friends were there too!  Hi Jonah!

seriously...  this guy was out for blood.

The bunnies were MUCH friendlier.

Dad went off to help Pastor and Mom took us inside for Easter crafts.  First stop was the cookie table.

Of course, we did great work there.

We Vandys are not known for our arts and crafts skills, but we did give it a solid effort.

Okay, one of us gave it a solid effort.

The other one...  well the other one entertained us :)

Pastor finally got the gym settled (it was absolutely packed).  A funny puppet came up and told the story of Easter!

Afterwards, Daddy took the first graders out to find eggs and Mom went with Jonah, Sissy and I.

Can you believe there were over 6,000 eggs?!  Here's the preschool section.

Ready, Set, GO!

Some kids did VERY well.  Jonah and B wanted to stop and open each egg we found.

Mom tried to get them to go get more, but there was no arguing.  They each got about 5 eggs :)  Oh well.

I got so many eggs, I started giving them away to my friends who didn't get as many.  Afterwards, we went back over to eat and play a little more with the animals.  I got to hold this big soft bunny.

B was really mad that Mom wouldn't let him have the bunny.

Finally, the nice farmer lady convinced Mom that B could hold the littlest bunny.  He was SO happy.
Thank you so much for putting on an awesome Eggstravaganza Zion!

Men at Work

You know we have a new truck on order.  This means it's time to polish and shine up the old one so we can sell it!  Dad let us help!

We take car washing quite seriously.

I washed this door for about 45 minutes.

And Cole spent an hour on the back door.

Who knows what Daddy was doing the rest of the time?!

We made sure to use every toy er.. tool Daddy has.

Dad tried to get us to help with other spots, but no way...  we were focused!

We each earned $2 for our efforts!  Thanks Pop for letting us help.
