Coachin the Cubbies

Not long after Papa and Nana left, we headed out to the ball fields for the Cubbies third game of the season.
Coach Dad helped me warm up.
My form is a little unconventional, but it gets the job done!

Of course our #1 fan was there cheering us on and trying to storm the field every chance he got.

3 at bats = 3 base hits!

I'm the youngest kid on the team but I don't care!
I love baseball!

Reunion!

Look who we got to see this weekend on their way home from Cincinnati!
I had no trouble remembering Papa and Nana.

Hugs and smooches all around!

It certainly wasn't easy, but they managed to wrangle B long enough for a quick photo.  We were very busy showing off our running, our costumes and our new toys.

Thanks for stopping in to say hello.  Come back again soon!

Hop On Pop

Each day starts the same way here in Vandyville.  Daddy is up first since he does not sleep.
B gets up second and screams for his milk, which usually wakes Mom and Cole up.
Dad gets B's milk while Cole heads into the bedroom for a cuddle with Mom.
Dad and B cuddle in the living room until Mom and Cole join in for Blues Clues on the couch.

B is usually good for about 7 minutes of Blues Clues while Mom makes coffee and washes her face.

Then it's rowdy time!  During the week, Dad gets ready for work and we fight over Mom.
On the weekends, we get to team up and hop on pop!

We love climbing on, wrestling with and practicing ninja moves on our Dad!

Somehow, he doesn't seem to mind one bit.

Thanks Pop!

The King Regains His Throne

'Round here, I'm the one who gets most of the attention for milestones.  I was starting to get a little tired of Cole getting SOOOO much attention for starting Kindergarten so I had to pull out the big guns.
That's right.  I went on the potty.  Of my OWN FREE WILL!

I was just sitting there making funny noises with my butt and cracking up, when something really happened!
I did BOTH #1 and #2!

Just take my word for it.  They were in there.

Top THAT Big Bro!

Kindergarten OR Bust!

Today was a big day for our family.  We all got up early and got dressed according to the role we were to play.
As usual, I played the comic relief with this vintage t-shirt from Baba's hope chest.

Cole was the star of the day.  He wore a snappy new uniform for his first day as a legitimate student at Zion!

Mom wore black to show that she was in mourning.  That lady cried all morning!

Don't worry Mom, we still love ya even though we're getting bigger all the time.

Mom went with me to Mrs. Ruth's class.  She gave me one last chance to red shirt, homeschool or move to Montana and live in the hills, but I wanted to GO GO GO!

I found my desk.  Can you believe Mrs. Ruth put me next to my buddy Seth and right behind my other buddy Levi?
I wonder how long this arrangement will last...

Okay Mom cried again when she saw me sit right down at a real DESK and get to work on my first ever assignment.

My friend Maisie was having a tough time without her Mommy so she cuddled up with us for Chapel and felt a little better.
I, on the other hand kept telling Mom to stop crying because I was happy!  It didn't work.  She was pretty upset, but I didn't let it put a damper on my excitement.

I LOVE KINDERGARTEN AND BEING BIG!

Like Cole, If I Could Be Like Cole

I've always had a thing for glasses...  Mom's pretty sure it's because there's someone around here that I look up to who sports em.

I'm not very gentle with them!

But I do look cute in em!

Even though I've got a very strong mind of my own, I do like to be like my big bro.
This includes wearing his shoes, pretending to sleep in his bed and this week, it included putting his new back pack and lunch bag on.  Mom lost it when she saw this one.  She asked Dad "Wasn't that Cole just yesterday?!"

OG NWWOW OG!

'Round here, we are very big on cheering each other on.  This Saturday we woke up at the crack of dawn to drive across town and cheer Mom on during her first half marathon.  Dad and I made a sign!

It was a REALLY tough, really long race, but we were there at the finish line and she seemed pretty happy to see us!

She stopped to pick us up and B and I crossed the finish line with her.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

I started baseball this week!  I had very little trouble picking it up and was able to hit the ball right away.

Okay, so I ran to the pitcher's mound WITH my bat instead of first...  Details details...

I also slid every chance I got.  Really, I slid anytime any other kid touched a ball.  It's important to put on a good show for the fans...

Games are Sunday at 1:00.  Come on out and cheer on the Cubs!
